Bodum Pavina Double-Wall Thermo Glasses

Product description
At last, a glass that won't burn or freeze your hand. Two walls of clear glass with an air layer in-between not only keep drinks cold--or hot--but prevent condensation from forming on the outside. So, an ice-cold shot of vodka or a steamy espresso feels just right, no matter the temperature. And coasters won't be needed, either.
Winner of the prestigious European iF Design Award, the mouth-blown Pavina glass exhibits Bodum's flair for the modern. Each two-ounce glass curves beguilingly and fits the palm just right. Mouth-blown of borosilicate glass, which is quite a bit thinner yet much more durable than regular glass, the two Pavina glasses in this set are safe for both the microwave and dishwasher, resist temperature swings, and resist scratching and dulling. Care should be taken when placing ice cubes in an empty glass, and metal spoons for stirring are discouraged. --Ann Bieri

Our customer experiences,
Great for espresso, well worth it!,
I've got the 2.5 oz ones for drinking espresso, and they are just great! All my ceramic cups are uncomfortable with the high temperature of fresh espresso, and the finger handles force your hand to burn. Even freshly filled, the outside of these attractive glasses are indistinguishable from room temp! I suppose your brew will maintain it's temperature longer too, though that is not a big concern for me. I fully expect them to break within a few years simply due to their delicate form factor and my clumsiness. If I am right, I will buy more when the time comes because they are great. I just fully expect myself to drop them or load them in the dishwasher wrong at some point.

Excellent product, surprisingly sturdy,
The cups maintain the temperature of a cappuccino for as long as it takes me to get to the bottom of the cup. Additionally it is nice not to need coasters (especially if you have men or children in the home). The 9 oz cup is less than 4 inches tall, making it fit perfectly under the fill spout of my super-automatic Saeco espresso machine (which I also love). My husband and I have had 4 of these cups for more than 6 months and not one of them has broken. I mention this because the 9 oz cups seem to be much more sturdy than the 21 oz Pavina ice tea glasses. We broke one of the 21 oz cups with the first ice cube that went into the cup. We broke 2 others in the first two weeks. Bottom line, I cannot recommend the 21 oz Pavina. However, the 9 oz Pavina cups are very tough, having survived 6 months of daily use with less than dainty owners. I think you will be very pleased with your purchase of the 9 oz Pavina cups.
